Criminally underrated accom with unique possibilities

Location The undergraduate houses are all on the same street which is on campus, so you can roll out of bed and be sat at your morning lecture within 10 mins. The closest shop is the campus Co-op, but for big shops you'll be walking to the city centre Morissons. Alternatively since you'll just be in a house you can do a delivery shop, which you can get delivered directly to your door. Room/Amenities The rooms are very big. If you're allocated a smaller or larger than average room, the price changes. Every house has its own washer/dryer, which means you won't have to pay for use of laundry rooms. The only other accom with a washer/dryer is Montague Burton. The bathrooms are shared; in our house it was 6 people to 2 toilets and 2 showers. One of the best bits is that you get a garden - in the warmer months this means you can host BBQs. Social You can throw great house parties here (and no other first years will be able to say that - because they're in flats!). The only problem is that you have to make slightly more of an effort to meet people because Shared Houses don't really do their own freshers events - there are no common areas. Our house decided to knock on our neighbours' front doors, say hello, and invite them to a party to get to know the street, which was really fun. Being centrally located also means you are always within a sensible distance of other accoms.

Best value by far

The best value accommodation by far. It’s the cheapest, with the biggest rooms, best location (directly on campus), and with free utilities (eg washer dryer). The social aspect is also pretty much identical to regular halls, as all the houses are located directly next to each other. So don’t worry about that. I’d recommend the shared houses to any incoming Uni of Leeds students, kind of criminal more people don’t know about them.
