About accomreviews

accomreviews started because there aren't many places to find honest, useful and recent reviews for uni accommodation in the UK. That's it. It's completely independently owned and operated, so you can be sure that the reviews you're reading aren't affected by our bias in any way.

• Why are there no private accoms on accomreviews?

  At the moment, we've decided not to allow reviews for any completely privately owned accommodation. This might change in the future, but for now there are a few reasons why we've done this. Most importantly, private accoms can easily influence ratings by incentivising residents to leave favourable reviews, often in exchange for some kind of monetary benefit. This is likely happening on other review sites, where private accoms shoot to the top of the rankings and delegitimise the results.

• I can't find my accom listed anywhere

  We're working hard to add every accom we can, but please request to have it added in the meantime, and we'll get to it as soon as we can. Note that if your accom is privately owned, we won't add it for the reasons outlined above.

• Why does my review need to be approved? Will I be censored?

  The only reason we manually approve reviews is to filter spam and blatantly offensive content. You are free to say more or less whatever you want in your review, as long as it's not sexist, homophobic, transphobic or racist.

• I've found a problem with the site I'd like to report
